Indeed, 2024 has been a busy year for BSGames! We’ve been to many events, visited quite a few game stores, sold out of our print run of Mathemagician’s Duel, and of course, released Sinoda! It has been an exciting one, and we’re going to recap the highlights here! If you want more detail about what happened this year, you can scroll back through our Instagram or Facebook where we reported our activities as they happened.
Events
First, let’s talk about all the events we went to! The year started with Niagara Boardgaming Weekend, where we met old friends and made new ones, and ended with a Sinoda demo event at It’s All Fun and Games in Niagara-on-the-Lake! And in between… wow, so many cool events. There isn’t enough space to detail them all, but we could probably fit in a picture from each.

In addition to these events, we were interviewed by Board Game Binge Podcast, I made a road trip to Ottawa to deliver preorders of Sinoda, Bill spent a day at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Peach Festival doing demos of Sinoda, and we both had a great day hanging out at It’s All Fun and Games in Niagara-on-the-Lake to play Sinoda on December 7th. We love opportunities to go to events and meet people and play games with them! Since most of these events run every year, we are looking forward to going back in 2025! We hope we’ll see YOU at some of them as well!
Stores
Because we had a new game out, we needed to visit a lot of stores, as well! We also love checking out game stores and talking to the people there and hearing about their passion for games. There are so many great independently-owned game stores out there for you to discover. Here are the ones that now sell Sinoda:
LVLUP Games
Wizard Tower
The Gameshelf
Fact or Fiction Games
Green Gables Bloomfield
Muskoka Cards
C&C Gamebridge
It’s All Fun and Games
Trinity Hobby
J&J’s Cards & Collectibles
Lantzalot Games
Gamezilla
Cards and Coasters
OMG Games
If there’s a store near you and they’re not on this list, let them know about us so they can get Sinoda as well!
Games

Even though were were spending a lot of time on Sinoda this year, in order to prepare it for release and then get it out there to the people, we were also continuing to develop other games. We discussed variants of Sinoda, as well as fancier deluxe board types, and began preparing to make fancier sets of d4s so you can have your own unique, high-quality set to play at home or to bring to tournaments!
Around all this, we’re preparing for a reprint of Mathemagician’s Duel. The new version will play the same as the previous one, but we’re going to make it bilingual French/English! On top of tis, we’ve been playtesting “Why Did the Average Chicken Cross the Road?” which uses the “middlest card” mechanic from “Survival of the Middlest”, but with a new theme and some extra fun complexity. Also, we have the bare bones of “Tiddly Tanks” sorted out, a near-complete “Robots vs. Aliens” two-player dice dueling game, along with several others at varying stages of production. Refinement continues on “From the Mist”, and we’re still looking for a company to pick up “Say What, Now?”, the hilarious, nonsensical sentence-construction game.
Also this year, someone created a version of Sinoda to play online on Board Game Arena. It’s currently in the alpha stage, but should be ready to release to the general public soon.
This year, we also got a great review of Sinoda by Dr. Brian MacDonald, who also placed it as number 4 in his top 10 games he played this year.
Next?
We are very much looking forward to what next year brings. Local schools are starting to run Mathemagician’s Duel clubs and leagues to compete in inter-school championships, so we’re keen to get the new printing done. Add to that the continued sharing of Sinoda and development of deluxe versions of it, plus the other games that we are working on, and we’re anticipating another exciting year. And that doesn’t even include how keen we are to get into more events in 2025.
Whatever happens, we just hope that those of you who have been following and supporting us so far will still be with us into the future. We very much appreciate you all and love having you along for our journey.
See you in 2025!
Bill and Scott
